HP ZBook Firefly 15 G7 is a thin 15.6-inch mobile workstation configuration aimed at professional daily work and entry-level CAD tasks. This unit combines an Intel Core i7-10610U, NVIDIA Quadro P520 graphics, 32 GB RAM, and a 1 TB SSD in a 1.75 kg chassis. The device focuses on portability, build quality, and long battery life, while graphics power is the main limitation for heavier modern workloads.

Design and Build
The laptop uses a dark gray business style with aluminum on the lid, work area, and bottom panel, plus plastic around the display and keyboard. Build quality is strong, with good panel rigidity and a stable hinge that opens to about 160 degrees. Service access is possible after removing bottom screws, with access to RAM, SSD, battery, fan, and Wi-Fi module.
Display and Multimedia
The 4K matte IPS panel offers high sharpness and good image quality, with reported 400 nits brightness, 1800:1 contrast, and full sRGB coverage. AdobeRGB coverage is lower (65%), but still useful for many photo and video workflows. PWM was not detected. The stereo speakers are clear but quiet with limited bass, and the 720p webcam is usable for calls but not high-detail video.
Keyboard and Input
The keyboard has a comfortable 1.5 mm key travel, two-level backlight, and a numpad, which is practical for office and numeric work. A pointing stick is included for users who prefer it. The large glass touchpad is responsive and supports multitouch gestures well, and the fingerprint scanner works as an additional login method.
Performance for Work Tasks
In this configuration, the Core i7-10610U and 32 GB RAM provide smooth performance for office workloads and multitasking. The Quadro P520 can handle light CAD scenarios, but it is an older discrete GPU and is not ideal for heavier modern professional graphics workloads. The 1 TB SSD supports fast system and file operations.
Ports, Battery, and Thermals
Connectivity is practical for professional use: dual Thunderbolt 3, dual USB 3.1, HDMI, smart card support, and modern wireless standards. There is no card reader or wired Ethernet port in this setup. Battery life results in the source review were strong: about 11-12 hours of 1080p video playback and about 9-9.5 hours of web browsing at 150 nits, with around 2 hours under maximum load. Under load, surface temperatures can become high, and the cooling system may activate during lighter tasks, though fan noise is described as generally comfortable.
Verdict
HP ZBook Firefly 15 G7 is a portable workstation option with a premium build, sharp 4K display, practical input devices, good security features, and strong battery life for its class. The key compromise is graphics headroom: Quadro P520 is suitable for lighter professional tasks but limited for heavier modern workloads. Users who prioritize mobility and business-oriented features over top-tier GPU performance may still find this configuration well balanced.
